BOW WOW: OWNED LOL

This shit made my day.
Taken from XXL's site. It Reads:

Dear Bow Wow,

Let me preface this by saying, I actually like you and even some of your music. I also predict that when it’s all said and done you’re gonna have an LL/Will Smith-like career. You seem in it for the long haul. But no one is recognizing it. So what do you do? You act a fool. So in turn, you get no respect. But there’s still some other reasons too, homie. Peep game.

26 Reasons Why Sir Shad Gregory Moss gets no respect:

1 You’re short.

2 You’re really short.

3 You still got a baby face.

4 You seem like a mama’s boy. Worst than Usher before the family wrecker came along.

5 Somebody else bumped your girl. 50 Cent!

6 R Kelly punked you out the “I’m a Flirt” song.

7 Your mentor JD gets no respect.

8 You seem like an ingrate cause you’re always shitting on the dude that put you on.

9 You were born in 1987. A year after Raising Hell.

10 You dropped the Lil from your name. Which is worst than being Lil in the first place.

11 You made an album with a nigga from B2K.

12 Lil girls love you. No, they really love you.

13 You call yourself Mr. 106 and Park like that’s a cool thing to be. Who’s your comp there AJ or Terrence J?

14 You call yourself Bow Wizzle like a fake baby Snoop Dogg who never put you on in the first place.

15 Death Row never signed you.

16 You call yourself Bow Weezy and we already got a Weezy.

17 You call yourself the Prince of the O-Town.

18 You come up with bad nicknames.

19 You jack other rapper’s flows and styles.

20 You make bad movies.

21 You got a Napoleon complex.

22 You talk too much.

23 You don’t listen.

24 You’re loud and wrong. As usual.

25 You’ll probably dismiss this and any criticism as hating.

26 You don’t have any hip-hop fans who care about you enough to make a list this long.

Sidenote: Does anyone remember the diss song Bow Wow made against Funkmaster Flex? Am I making this up? Revisionist history? I swear, it happened.

Lil Wayne Leak?

Photobucket

Back in October, Lil Wayne informed MTV News that while his highly anticipated
Tha Carter III LP would not be hitting stores this year, he would appease fans in the fourth quarter of 2007 with a special mixtape album called Tha Carter III: The Leak. The release was to include a number of completed songs that have leaked throughout the year, in addition to four brand new tracks. The Leak was supposed to hit stores on December 18, but as the Holiday season approached and the public was yet to see a video or hear an official single, most fans gave up on the prospect of a new Weezy project seeing the light of day in 2007.

Then, in early December, sources at Universal confirmed to XXL editor-in-chief Elliott Wilson that no Lil Wayne LP would be released until the official Carter III hit stores in February of 2008. Now, with just a week left until the new year, a five song Lil Wayne EP called simply The Leak has quietly appeared on the websites of online digital music retailers such as Amazon and Rhapsody. The EP includes tracks such as “Gossip,” which was supposed to be the first single off Tha Carter III: The Leak, and “Kush.” Amazon lists The Leak’s official street date as Tuesday, December 25 and Cash Money Records as the label. It is unclear whether the EP will ever be available in stores, or why no official announcement accompanied its release.

Here is the tracklisting for Lil Wayne’s The Leak:

1. I’m Me

2. Gossip

3. Kush

4. Love Me Or Hate Me

5. Talkin’ About It

XXL.com's Top 10 Producers of 2007..

10) Ski- produced Camp Lo’s soon to be classic 3rd LP, Black Hollywood, and gave “Girls Kiss Girls” enough pulsating techno pop to blast white rapper Pittsburgh Slim into the homes of spring breaking white girls nationwide

9) Scott Storch- produced the universally-loved Papoose single “Bang It Out,” which was so hot that Pap had to leave the pop factory, Jive Records, for greener pastures; beefed, dissed, and ethered his former protege Timbaland, who then went on record in a Scratch Mag interview and said he still hangs out with the guy. Dear Mr. Piano Man, I’m your biggest fan, sincerely Mr. Tim-ber-land.

8) R Kelly- drops his album Double Up, which apparently every producer in the entire music industry worked on, then jacks everyone except like 2 people for their production credit because that’s just how The Rrrrrrr gets down. Didn’t The Runners produce like every song on this fucking album?

7) 7 Aurelius/Channel 7 or whatever the hell he calls himself now, and Irv Gotti- you can’t tell me that Ja Rule record, “Body” isn’t the hottest career comeback record evar. It was so hot that more people watched Irv Gotti’s VH1 show to hear him talk about the record than actually listened it.

6) Jermaine Dupri- gives Fabolous one the biggest fake hits of his career with “Baby Don’t Go” which he actually made back in something like 1994 for Whodini. Reselling beats and getting paid twice, that’s why Jermaine is the uber exec. What, you thought the music biz was about making music? It’s about checks. Cha-ching! Throw in that Paul Wall hit “I’m Throwed,” and you see JD was on top of his game.

5) Three 6 Mafia- produced the #1 ringtone, “Don’t Call Me No Mo” for Project Pat, as well as his whole album Walkin Bank Roll. Also dropped something like 15 incredible singles from their still unreleased new album Last 2 Walk and acted like great ambassadors for hip-hop culture in front of a national audience on their weekly MTV show Adventures In Hollyhood.

4) Soulja Boy- this kid is like 16 years old, obviously can’t play a lick, but produced the most infectious single of the year. Now I know everyone here hates this kid more than Bin Laden, but is it because you really don’t like his music, or because you’re sitting in your bedroom trying to hard while he’s getting rich off some bullsh*t?

3) The Neptunes- Admit it, that Twista single, “Give It Up,” was so hot that Twista got dropped from Atlantic Records because of it. Besides that, Skateboard P was busy opening up BBC stores in Soho and doing all sorts of cool shit producers do when they’re so rich they don’t even need to give a fuck about music anymore.

2) Lil Jon- outside of doing some random production on Pitbull’s new album, Jon spent the whole year working on Crunk Rock. Which is dope, because he spared us his repetitive 2-note beats being on the radio every 3 seconds. So he makes it to #2 just by not doing anything.

1) The Rza- Bob Digital hit his creative high point with Wu-Tang Clan’s 8 Diagrams. It’s unfortunate, however, that his Wu-brethren didn’t see things the same way and then went on to dis him damn near everywhere they could. Meanwhile, nobody in that crew outside of Ghostface can sell more than a thousand records on their own, so instead of bitching, they should have embraced their “Inner Digi” and rocked that Beatles shit harder than Paul McCartney.

This is like a million times wrong. LOL

Kanye on the cover of SPIN.

“I’m a pop enigma. I live and breathe every element in life. I rock a bespoke suit and I go to Harold’s for fried chicken. It’s all these things at once, because, as a tastemaker, I find the best of everything. There’s certain things that black people are the best at and certain things that white people are the best at. Whatever we as black people are the best at, I’m a go get that. Like, on Christmas I don’t want any food that tastes white. And when I go to purchase a house, I don’t want my credit to look black."

- Kanye West tells the new issue of SPIN.

Rolling Stones:The 100 Best Songs of 2007

Photobucket

Here are the top ten and what else they had to say....

1 "Roc Boys"
Jay-Z
And the winner is. . . Hov! This is black superhero music, circa 2007: Jay-Z goes to the movies and comes back with an even better film in his head, with a song that plays like the Copacabana scene in GoodFellas translated into hip-hop. The most triumphant sound anyone came up with all year, this track makes you fly in more ways than one. After thanking his drug connection and tipping his hat to God, Jigga toasts the high life over a gritty Brooklyn funky-horns riff from the Menahan Street Band. It's a celebration, bitches. Drinks is on the house!

2 "A Few Words in Defense of Our Country"
Randy Newman

3 "Umbrella"
Rihanna

4 "D.A.N.C.E."
Justice

5 "Four Winds"
Bright Eyes

6 "Dough Is What I Got"
Lil Wayne
Insanely prolific (or maybe just insane), the self-proclaimed Best Rapper Alive works his down-South magic over a jazzy sax sample and proves his sub-zero flow can make the shy girls horny and the fly girls corny.

7 "Rehab"
Amy Winehouse

8 "Long Walk Home"
Bruce Springsteen

9 "Boyz"
M.I.A.
A dutty-rock jam about riding with your girls, calling out the dude version of "How many ladies in the house?" Except M.I.A. turns those shout-outs into a global-capitalism survey: "How many no-money boys are crazy . . . how many start a war?"

10 "Int'l Player's Anthem"
UGK
Before his sudden death, Pimp C celebrated his release from jail with the posse cut of the year: Houston's reigning hip-hop duo with fellow Dirty South crews Three 6 Mafia and OutKast.

“SEAN “Diddy” Combs is in love again. The hip-hop mogul made the decision to “cut off the various girls he has around the world” and settle down with on-and-off flame Cassie - at least for now. “She recently broke up with her boyfriend, and they’re in Miami together now,” our source said of the singer. Friends on both sides of the camp are whispering about their reunion. “They’re holed up together in Miami, very low-key. He’s really in love with her,” said the insider.”

NO LIL WAYNE LEAK.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The moles at the Universal Record Emporium have confirmed that there is no Lil Wayne album coming in the 4th quarter. The Leak was a pipe dream. It’s never coming out! Tha Carter 3 the most anticipated album in the history of mankind is still tentatively (don’t-hold-your-muthafuckin’-breath-it-ain’t-gonna-really-come-out) scheduled for February 2008. I’ll believe that when some fabulous Frenchmen let Nas come out with an album named Nigger.

Bottom line: Cash Money’s master plan was always to milk Wayne’s moment of fan supremacy for as long as they could. Putting an album out can only knock the fucker off his throne unless he defies all of us and has a classic locked up in his foggy-ass brain.

But all is not lost rap fans: Fresh off the chump charges, Papa Crazy is still dropping next Tuesday. Baby basically pimped the system. “You ain’t getting what you want, I need my moment in the sun.” Nuff respect to ole girl but one thing is abundantly clear: Sylvia Rhone lost. Unless she heard some stuff that hasn’t leaked and she’s doing us all a favor. If that’s the case, she’s a saint ‘cause I just can’t take another half-baked Weezy track.

Sidebar: And there’s no Nelly! Say what you want about Antonio but at least he follows the Lyor blueprint and keeps our stockings stuffed with some rap. Peace and blessings this holiday season, Black man! L’chaim!

Lupe Fiasco Plans To Quit Rapping Soon?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

First Saigon revealed he was quitting rap in November, and now, Lupe Fiasco looks like he might do the same in the near future.

Much like Saigon, Lupe is growing weary of the music industry. The whole process actually. After years in the business, the rapper says two more albums -- his forthcoming The Cool and his last one, L.U.P.End -- and he's done recording music. At least, that's what he told PitchFork in a recent interview.

"I'm at a creative end," he explained. "I really don't think I have that much to say. And I don't want to get to the point where I'm putting out music just to put out music. Especially recording music.

"The interview process, the radio process, the video process, the budget process -- that sh-- wears at you, tears at you. And I've been doing the music business for like eight years. And prior to that, on the underground level trying to get to a professional level, about 10-15 years. It's a heavy process and you just get to the point where you're just like, 'I don't know.' It's just like three is enough."

But, if he, in fact, decides to hang it up, he won't just disappear. Fans will be able to see him perform live, that's if the demand is still there.

"I'll still perform as long as a venue will have me and a promoter will have me. Always. Until I'm 100 years old," Lupe said.

And in addition to performing, there might be a couple more projects after his "so-called final album." According to the rapper, there may be "a couple concept records" and, "god-willing," an album from the highly anticipated supergroup, Child Rebel Soldiers, a collaborative effort between Lupe, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.

But with CRS, it all comes down to scheduling, he admitted.

"Everyone's focused on something else at the moment," he explained to PitchFork. "[We're trying to find] two or three weeks to sit down and hammer it out. We're all kindred spirits; let's get together and unify that and see what happens."

The Cool is due in stores December 18.

Lil Wayne returns to the cover of Complex and brings on the DRAMA! with some insight on a song he knows was about him.

“I thought the whole ‘Mr. Me Too’ video was about me, to tell you the damn truth,” Weezy says of the Clipse song. “They think I want to be like them. I’m on a million-dollar bus going around the world charging people from $50,000 to $150,000 for verses, and I got 77 songs in magazines and I got a billion more. Do the math; you think I’m trying to be like you? No sir.”

It’s no secret that Wayne and The Clipse don’t get along.

In the issue he also addresses handling his own beef – which many notice that Wayne doesn’t do much beefing on wax. What he says may raise just a few more eyebrows…

“You’d expect me to pay somebody to do it? You supposed to be able to do anything in this world. That’s what Martin Luther King told me,” He says when addressing taking care of problems with people. “He ain’t never put a specific on what to [do]. He said you can do anything. ‘Kill’ falls under that.”

The issue of Complex is on newsstands now. I JUST CANT FIND IT DAMN!

AND HERE IS THE CLIPSE RESPONSE!!!!

Fashion SPOTLIGHT: MOB & REVIVE

MARRIED TO THE MOB.

Married to the Mob was conceptualized on a hot sticky New York City day in summer 2004. Sitting on her stoop on Spring Street and working on her second to-go Margarita, it dawned on label founder Leah that while there were tons of great street brands for guys, there was virtually no version out there for females. Thus the concept for MOB was born: A streetwear label designed for women and by women. Growing up in a city like New York, you're only as good as the crew that you run with and the name of the label is Leah's tribute to the "Most Official Bitches," who through the ups and downs and highs and lows never failed to have her back. Design inspiration for the label is literally up from the streets of New York and its clubs, secret hang-out spots and smoke-filled parties, making MOB equal parts chic, smart-mouthed, and definitely not-to-be-messed with

R.I.P Pimp C

Capt. Ed Winter of the L.A. County Coroner's office tells TMZ that it appears as though rapper Pimp C died of natural causes in a Hollywood hotel room today.

We're told no drug paraphernalia or other drugs were found in the room. The rapper, we've learned, was found fully clothed on top of the bed. He did not seem to have fallen or injured himself and he was positioned on his side.

Winter said it did not appear that there was anyone else in the room at the time of his death. An autopsy will be performed and toxicology test results will be available in six to eight weeks.

Pimp C, whose real name is Chad Butler, was one half of the Houston rap duo UGK.

NEWS: MANNIE FRESH’S SISTER MURDERED

Mannie Fresh's sister, Angela Bryant, was shot and killed Wednesday night in her New Orleans home, according to local TV affiliate WWLTV. Police reportedly said the 42-year-old mother's two young children were present but not physically harmed.

Authorities said Bryant, whose body was discovered early Thursday morning, was murdered between 10 p.m. and midnight, according to WWLTV. Her black 1998 Lexus LS 400 reportedly went missing after the murder.

Bryant's husband, who had been out of town when his wife was killed, arrived at the house before noon and was distraught, according to the WWLTV report. The couple got married last month, and Bryant celebrated her birthday with family on Wednesday night, WWLTV said. Police reportedly did not elaborate on the conditions of the children, ages 2 and 7, but said they were safe and healthy

Redskins' Sean Taylor Dies After Being Shot

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

MIAMI -- Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor died early Tuesday, a day after the Pro Bowl player was shot at home by what police say was an intruder. He was 24.

Family friend Richard Sharpstein said Taylor's father told him the news around 5:30 a.m.

"His father called and said he was with Christ and he cried and thanked me," said Sharpstein, Taylor's former lawyer. "It's a tremendously sad and unnecessary event. He was a wonderful, humble, talented young man, and had a huge life in front of him. Obviously God had other plans."

Taylor died at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he had been airlifted after the shooting early Monday, Sharpstein said.

Two carloads of mourners, including the athlete's father, arrived at the house Tuesday morning. They remained inside and did not speak to reporters. A single bouquet of flowers was left by a palm tree just outside a front gate. Beside the mailbox, an untouched newspaper lay with news of Taylor's shooting.

Kanye Not getting sued?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Kanye West and legendary stuntman Evel Knievel have officially settled their copyright dispute over the use of the daredevil’s image in the video for “Touch The Sky.” In Kanye’s video he assumes the persona of “Evil Kanyevel” and, while wearing a costume similar to the one worn by the legendary stuntman, attempts to jump a canyon on a motorcycle. Knievel viewed the video as infringement on his trademarked name and likeness said that “vulgar and offensive” images in the video might harm his reputation. He subsequently filed suit against Kanye, Roc-A-Fella Records and AOL for distributing the clip.

On July 11, the two parties notified a federal judge that they would attempt to work the disagreement out with a mediator in an effort to avoid a trial. While details of the settlement have not been disclosed, the matter was reportedly settled amicably and Kanye and Knievel recently met for a photo opportunity at the stuntman’s home in Tampa, Florida.

Trilla Pushed Back to 2008

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Rick Ross will release his sophomore album Trilla on Feb. 19, 2008. The project was originally scheduled to be part of an already crowded fourth quarter lineup, as Def Jam intended to release it on Dec. 18. While the Runners produced single "Hustlin" worked its way to platinum, peaking at number 11 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and pushing the album Port of Miami to 722,000 copies sold, Ross hasn't been able to repeat his success this time around. "Speedin,'" the first single to be released from Trilla is currently at number 76 the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and has shown little progress since its release. Def Jam hopes pushing the release date back will give the project more time to develop.

Trilla will feature production from the Runners, Mannie Fresh, The Neptunes and Cool and Dre, as well as others. Lil' Wayne, Akon, T-Pain and Marsha Abrosius all make appearances on the album, as does Jay-Z, who is featured on the song "Maybach Music." In anticipation of the former release date, Def Jam launched a website for Trilla, which is still up.

If you thought Nas was being controversial with an album titled Nigger, wait until you hear some of the song titles he has for the project. The MC reached out to MTV News earlier this week to reveal a bit more about the work-in-progress.

"I have a song called 'The Fear,' " he said. "The full title of the record is 'The Fear of the Black Man's D---.' That's some sh-- you can get comedy [from], or you can get some seriousness from it when you talk about the barbaric castrations that happened in our past — which is very serious, nothing to laugh at."

Nas also said that despite the serious name of his project — which has already set off a firestorm of controversy — the LP will be balanced, and he emphasized that he is not singling out any one race.

"It's not an attack on white people at all," he promised, regarding the record's content. "It's knowledge; it's understanding for all people. It's not an attack on any race."

Nas clarified that he will be combating a myriad of racial slurs, not just the one after which he named his album.

"It's about the attacks that have happened to blacks, whites, all ethnicities," he continued. " 'Mick' niggers, 'guinea' niggers, 'kike' niggers. I have a song called 'You a Nigger Too.' "

"It's all over the place," he added. "Balance is so important because there's a fun level to the [album] too. There's an attractive, sexy, aspect to it; a stylish aspect, a flashy aspect. It takes negatives and makes them good."
